NETWORK COMPONENTS

2.1 Network Components

Computer network hardware consists of:

2.1.1 Cable network
2.1.2 The network interface card (NIC)
2.1.3 Hub
2.1.4 Switch (Switch)
2.1.5 modem
2.1.6 Router (Router)
2.1.7 The center Wireless (Wireless Access Point)

Examples of Computer Hardware

2.1.1 Network Cable RJ45

                          Figure 2.1.1: Cable RJ45

● Used to connect a computer to the device and device to device and network connection to the Internet.
● Is the hardware used to connect computers and devices available in the wired network.

2.1.2 Network Interface Card (Network Interface Card, NIC)

Figure 2.1. 2: Network Interface Card

Network interface

● network interface card is a device used by computers to communicate on the network.
● communication device that enables a computer to access the network by providing network port for connection to a network cable.
● Allows computers communicate with each other.

● Card interface for desktops and notebooks differ in shape and appearance, but its function is the same.

2.1.3 Hub

                              Figure 2.1.3: Hab

● The communication device serves to connect multiple computers and devices in a local area network (LAN).
● The hub has a network port. When data arrives at a port network, data will be copied to other network ports so that all devices in the network can receive the data.
● The hub is a device that serves as a focal point for the cable - cable in a network.

2.1.4 Switch (Switch)

                   Figure 2.1.4: Switches

● A communication device has the same function as a hub. This tool is similar to a hub, but it is better able to check the data has been received, determine the receivers and sends the data to the right.

● The switch is a hardware circuit that will choose the path of data transmission to its destination.

2.1.5 modem

Figure 2.1.5: Modem

● This tool allows the computer to send data over a phone line or cable.

● A computer device that converts digital signals to analog signals and vice versa form to get a connection to the Internet.

2.1.6 Router (Router)

          Figure 2.1.6: Routers

● Routers carry data from one network to another.
● The router acts as a switch that determines between two or more networks to transfer data.
● Device communication network is accelerating the delivery of data via the best route. Routers also serve as a link different networks.

Now, the router technology has grown and flourished where the router, modem and switch have been combined in a single component. This makes it easier for users to use only one of the components consisting of the three components.

2.1.7 The center Wireless (Wireless Access Point)

Figure 2.1.7: The center Wireless

● This tool connects data communication wire to form a wireless network.

This device is a communication device that serves as a central transmission and reception of radio waves of wireless
